Washington Husky fans thrilled with 10-point win over No. 10 Michigan Wolverines
By Ethan Lee
Washington Husky football fans have every reason to be excited right now. At home in Seattle, Jedd Fisch and the Huskies bounced back from an infuriating loss last Friday and managed to get a bit of revenge for a loss back in January.
Fisch’s Huskies got a win over the No. 10 team Saturday evening as the Huskies handled the Michigan Wolverines and won by a score of 27-17. Washington really proved its potential and the Huskies came out on top of a pretty emotional contest.
Plus, on top of it all, the Huskies are that much closer to bowl eligibility, which is never a bad thing, even if that is far from the sort of goals that most Washington Husky fans want in the early stages of Fisch’s rebuild in Seattle.
Washington’s offense looked solid as the Huskies managed to gain 429 yards of total offense against a defense that had been heralded entering the game. Meanwhile, Michigan’s offense was limited to just 287 total yards.
Will Rogers managed to showcase his skills all while being complimented by Demond Williams, whose athleticism and precise passing were huge assets for UW’s offense in the second half. Rogers managed to complete 21 of 31 pass attempts and threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns against one pick.
And that’s a huge reason as to why the Huskies are now 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten play. And that’s one huge reason why Washington Husky fans are very, very happy.

The Huskies rushed the field! I mean, Michigan isn’t great, but beating a top 10 team in your first year of a rebuild with a brand new head coach and a completely overhauled roster? That’s at least a little noteworthy.
And Husky fans should be thrilled here. This is a notable win.
I mean, you can’t tell me this doesn’t look fun.
And Husky fans are having fun online as well.
The Huskies needed this win to get closer to making a bowl game become reality. A loss really would’ve made things frustrating.
But, more important than that, in his sixth game as the head coach on Montlake, Jedd Fisch managed to get a statement win against a top 10 ranked team in the country. It’s his first season in Seattle. His roster had to be hastily assembled given everything that happened following Kalen DeBoer’s departure. Washington needed this win and Fisch delivered. That feels pretty good.
