No. 2: Washington State defensive back Ethan O'Connor

O'Connor has been impressive so far in his freshman (redshirt) campaign. He's been a lockdown defender against opposing receivers and has a tendency to find the ball in the air. In just two games he's already recorded 1 INT and 2 pass defenses.

In his opening debut Portland State QB, Dante Chachere, barely looked his way but when he did O'Connor was able to play tight and keep the ball either away from his receiver or limit him to not many yards after the catch.

Against Texas Tech, the freshman only improved and the WSU coaches used him in new ways. He came off a blitz and was able to make a tackle for loss. He also recorded a interception and a pass defense.

This young man continues to get better in each game and his confidence is growing. He's one of the defensive play makers that UW will need to be watching out for and maybe even try to humble him.
