After loss to Rutgers, Washington Huskies a huge underdog vs Iowa according to FPI

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are going to need to find ways to get some wins down the stretch of the season if they hope to make it to a bowl game. Right now, it looks like they’re in for a tough test on the road when they eventually meet up with the Iowa Hawkeyes in a few weeks.
Plenty of things could happen between now and when the Hawkeyes host the Huskies, but as it stands right now, ESPN’s FPI believes Fisch and Washingtn will have a tough time when they head to Iowa City in week eight.
The latest ESPN FPI analytics matchup prediction tool projections are giving Washington just a 36.2 percent chance of coming out on top of this game. That’s not exactly a coin flip sort of situation. Iowa is certainly favored there.
And it makes some sense. While Iowa has appeared pretty weak on the offensive side of things at times, they’ve also shown some notable improvement in their ability to put points up on the board. The Huskies, meanwhile, are struggling to score. Washington’s defense looks stout, but as Rutgers demonstrated this past Friday, UW’s offense struggles to get into the end zone.
Way ahead of their week 8 matchup, Washington Huskies are a notable underdog to the Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa’s offense is pretty far from being balanced, but Hawkeyes running back Kaleb Johnson is seemingly unstoppable right now. Through just four games, Johnson has run for 685 yards and nine touchdowns. That’s just incredible.
Iowa’s offensive line is able to routinely pave paths for Johnson, but he’s still getting around and over and through tough front sevens that know what Iowa wants to do on offense. How will the Huskies handle him in a few weeks? Are Steve Belichick and Jedd Fisch prepared for that?
And what about the offense for the Huskies? Will we see that side of the ball shore up its issues of getting into the end zone so that they can improve in putting points on the board?
