Washington football sophomore running back Tybo Rogers has been suspended again by the University of Washington for a second time. A spokesman for the UW revealed that Rogers was arrested by Seattle Police but did not go specify the reason behind his arrest.
Further details were revealed by The Seattle Times and King 5 News that Rogers was arrested this morning for sexually assaulting two women last year. Both incidents were reported to have had happened in October 2023.
Rogers was first suspended in August 2023 under unclear circumstances except that it involved off-field issues. It certainly wouldn’t have looked good for Kalen DeBoer and his former regime if they had known and still allowed Rogers to participate in football activities.
According to King 5, former offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb declined to comment on the situation.
Rogers joined the Huskies in 2023 out of Bakersfield, California, and participated in 12 games, rushing for 184 yards.
Rogers looked to be a promising running back talent for Washington football but now his future remains in jeopardy as the school awaits further information regarding the case from the Seattle Police.
His bail has been set at $300,000.
