It’s going to be more than a few weeks before we see the Washington Huskies meet up with the Indiana Hoosiers. It’s going to take a bit. Things will certainly change between now and that midseason matchup (that’s right on the border of being a late season matchup).

But right now, as the Washington Huskies football team gets set to start 2024 off with a home game against Weber State in week one, the Huskies are being given a pretty good chance of defeating Indiana when the two teams do eventually meet up later this year.

Ahead of the first Washington football game of the 2024 season, ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor actually gives the Huskies a solid shot of getting a road win in Bloomington.

Before week 1 game, Washington Huskies given solid chances of beating Indiana later this season

According to ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor, the Huskies have a 66.3 percent chance of getting a win over the Indiana Hoosiers. All things considered, that’s a pretty solid percentage to have this early in the season.

I mean, it is still worth taking some of that with a grain of salt. We still don’t know exactly what Washington or Indiana will pan out to be this season. Both of these programs have had coaching changes and the transfer portal influences change to a program as well.

The Huskies are coming off a successful 2023 campaign that saw them reach the College Football Playoff National Championship game but they lost their head coach and 41 players from last year’s team. They’re entering a new era under head coach Jedd Fisch. So, we’ll have to wait and see what they turn out to be.

But, that is still an intriguing glimpse at what this matchup could pan out to look like later this season. Here’s to hoping that it’s accurate.
