NFL hopeful quarterback Michael Penix sat down with FanSided and Special Olympics during Super Bowl prep week to talk football futures and about their time at Washington.

Penix Jr. is currently projected to go early in the 2024 NFL draft, as a borderline first-round, at least second-round pick.

The Washington quarterback joined FanSided's Sterling Holmes and Special Olympian Malcom Harris-Gowdie to talk about his time with the Huskies and his future in the NFL. When asked about playing in the National Championship, Penix Jr. talked about how fortunate he was to play in that game, but it was a tough loss.

"Our route there, it was bumpy, you know." Penix told us. "It took a lot of hard work and determination to keep pushing forward, and we were the underdogs a lot. We showed them that we belong and it was an amazing experience."

Penix Jr. also talk about what he is looking forward to most in the NFL and his respond was something every player wants in the NFL.

An opportunity.

The former Husky talked about how he wants the opportunity to show his skill set to whatever team chooses to take a chance on him. He also talked about his time at both Indiana and Washington, Penix Jr., and the injuries he faced throughout his college career. He believes that the injuries helped him to learn how to persevere and work hard to be where he is today.

Holmes and Harris-Gowdie asked Penix Jr. what his thoughts were on NIL and the state of college football and Penix Jr. had a great response. His advice to players coming up was not to chase the money chase dreams because you will get it in the pros, so enjoy going after dreams.

Penix Jr. did admit that the player he wishes to throw to in the NFL is his teammate Rome Odunze, so maybe teams should try and work something out because we all know how a college connection can transfer to the NFL. I'm looking at you Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase.

Michael Penix Jr. will get his chance in the NF to be certain. You can check out the full interview below.
