The 2024 NFL Draft belongs to the Washington Huskies. Two Huskies didn't have to wait long until their names were called. The Atlanta Falcons shocked all with a bold move to draft Michael Penix Jr. 8th overall. The Chicago Bears followed suit and drafted wide receiver Rome Odunze 9th overall.

This is the first time since 1941 that the Huskies have had two players selected in the top 10.

Penix and Odunze were key parts in Washington's high-powered offense in 2022 and 2023 and now they go drafted back to back in the top 10.

Rome Odunze to Chicago at 9th overall in 2024 NFL Draft

Rome Odunze is one of the best wide receivers in the draft, if not the best, and was the third WR taken off the board behind Marvin Harrison Jr and Malik Nabers.

In four years at the UW, Odunze had 214 receptions, 3,272 yards, and 24 touchdowns. He saw his best year in 2023 with 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was a consensus All-American in 2023 and a two-time First-Team All-Pac 12 in 2022 and 2023.

Now Odunze is headed to Chicago to join an exciting rebuild that includes WR D.J. Moore, TE Cole Kmet, WR Keenan Allen, RB D'Andre Swiftt, and now QB Caleb Williams.
