Jalen McMillan, had a prolific Washington Huskies career and was the very first Husky to score an NFL touchdown in the current 2024 season.

This may surprise you as he was the third Husky wide receiver taken in the 2024 NFL draft. Rome Odunze was drafted 9th overall and went to the Chicago Bears, while Ja'Lynn Polk was drafted in the second round and went to the New England Patriots. McMillan went ultimately in the third round with the 29th pick (92nd overall).

All three each recorded one reception in their opening contest, but McMillan took his into the end zone and it was sweet.

While it may surprise you because he was the third Husky receiver to be taken, it shouldn't surprise you that he was able to get that open, he was known for his ability to create space between himself and the defender at the college level.

Another surprise... what is that celebration at the end?

Does he do the "O-H" celebration that comes from Ohio State? It sure looks like and there may be an amazing reason for it, as he was guarded by none other than Mike Sainristil who was taken out of Michigan in the same draft at 50th overall.

Who knows what sort of trash talk was happening before this moment to put the idea of flashing Sainristil's rivals signs to him, or how much losing to Michigan in the title game brought this about. Regardless, it's a fun moment and a good moment for one of our favorite Huskies, in McMillan.

McMillan had another clear opportunity early in the game, and moment he would love to have back but also a good Rookie learning moment.

His own "Welcome to the NFL" moment as he missed the opportunity to have another TD (though at this point, it would have been his first). If he cotinues to create space like this, he will have lots of NFL TDs and it was good that Baker Mayfield went back to him later in the game.
