Based on talent alone, Jalen McMillan should be amongst the top five receivers taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, considering the amount of receivers available in this draft, McMillan will likely drop but one NFL team will certainly get a steal.

McMillan could have returned for one last season with the Huskies but he instead turned his sights on the Draft.

The four-star recruit out of Fresno, California was recruited by former Washington head coach Chris Petersen and was ranked as the No. 38 player in the nation by 247 Sports.

In 2021, McMillan had 39 receptions for 470 yards (12.1 average) and three touchdowns. When Kalen DeBoer took over, McMillan became a 1,000-yard receiver and thrived Washington's offense. He finished the year with 79 receptions for 1,098 yards (13.9 average), and nine touchdowns.

The 6'1" 192-pound receiver was named to the preseason 2023 Biletnikoff Award watch list and would have had a very good chance to win had he not been injured. McMillan was injured after going down in game three at Michigan State, missing four games while he was limited in others. He finished the year with 559 yards (12.4 average) and four touchdowns as well as three rushes for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Strengths

On top of a very productive career, McMillan is a highly versatile player. He can be lined up on the outside, in the slot, and even used out of the backfield. Lengthy and shifty, McMillan is a good route runner who excels in creating space. He also is very good at securing passes while in contact with a defender.

Weaknesses

While McMillan has great built-up vertical speed, he doesn't have a great one-step burst. He's had trouble in tracking the ball at times and has suffered seven drops in 2022 and five drops in 2023.

Grade: Round 2-3
