Evaluating grades for Washington Huskies in 21-point win vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles

Washington Huskies defense vs. Eastern Michigan: A
Arguably the strongest part of Washington’s performance against the Eastern Michigan Eagles came from the Washington Huskies’ defense. Steve Belichick (UW’s defensive coordinator) is coaching one heck of a unit here and they’ve looked pretty solid in all eight quarters that they’ve played so far.
Washington has yet to give up a touchdown to an opponent so far this season, though Eastern Michigan did manage to find a way to get nine points on the scoreboard this past Saturday (they all came from field goals, by the way).
But even with those nine points, UW’s foes have scored a combined 12 points through two games. I’ll be pretty happy if Washington’s defense holds opponents to six points a game all throughout the year.
The Huskies got after EMU’s offense and really limited what the Eagles wanted to accomplish.
In total, EMU was able to put together 204 total yards of offense. The Eagles gained 75 yards on the ground and 129 passing yards. That’s a remarkable performance for the entirety of this defense and Belichick should be commended for the work that he's doing on Montlake.
Washington didn’t force any turnovers on Saturday, but a lot of what goes into turnovers is just sheer luck and being in the right place at the right time. So, again, no real complaints.
