Cougar fans blame Washington Huskies for the Pac-12 collapse

Who's really at fault for the Pac-12 dissolve? There's only one answer if you are a Cougar fan.

I'm no different than most Husky fans, I put my purple and gold socks on one foot at a time (typically it's my left foot first but I get wild at times and mix it up). Like most Husky fans, I have plenty of friends, co-workers, and acquaintances that are Cougar fans.

Which means I have to deal with their consistent and persistent spin on reality.

The number one thing I've heard this last year is that it's the University of Washington's fault that the Pac-12 collapsed. UW is the primary entity to blame, which is quite a take. I assume many of you have heard this too, because it's not one Cougar fan that I've heard this from, it's something I hear from many of them. Some are more aggressive and passionate about it than others.

Even to the point of saying that the Cougars should refuse to play in the Apple Cup.

Should Washington Cougar fans be upset with Washington Huskies about Pac-12 problems?

Here's how this conversation usually goes...
WSU fan: Ugh, the Huskies, they are the reason the Pac-12 came apart and why we are stuck in this boat.
UW fan: What? You know it was UCLA and then USC that started this whole thing?
WSU fan: Right, but you know at that point it's back to the Pac-10 and if UW would have just stayed, we could have added other schools.
UW fan: Oregon was trying to leave too, you know that right?
WSU fan: They wouldn't have left if UW stayed.
UW fan: Ok... I'm not convinced but even if it was UW that got Oregon to go. They didn't force other schools to go.
WSU fan: Once UW decided to leave the other dominoes fell, and once again the freaking Huskies ruin everything.
UW fan: You know Larry Scott and then George Kliavkoff really created this mess with their poor leadership. If blame needs to be assigned, UW is way down the list.
WSU fan: UW could have been part of the solution not contributed to the problem. They bailed and killed the Pac-12!
UW fan: The media deal was terrible too.
WSU fan: Doesn't matter, tradition and loyalty matter more.

Have you had this conversation?

I've had one like this numerous times and because of that, let me tell you. WSU fans want this game so bad, for now it's not just the rival that they see, but this back-stabbing monster of a rival. It probably didn't help that we also took Pat Chun, or as I like to see it, we freed him from his bondage.

It won't just be the fans that are stirred up to win this game, the Cougar players will want this so badly, they will be ready on Saturday to take the Apple Cup back. Hopefully, UW and the players are ready for what is coming Saturday, it will be a bit more bitter and angry than a normal year.
