A bizarre 4th down play call stalled what would’ve been a potential game-winning drive from the Washington Huskies. Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies decided to make a truly bizarre choice, trying to run a speed option with Will Rogers on 4th down from the 2 yard line and it absolutely backfired.

Just a truly bewildering play call in the final minutes of the game that was plagued with penalties and mistakes all over the field.

Trailing 24-19 with just over a minute left in the game, the Huskies chose to try to convert on a critical 4th and goal situation with arguably the biggest mistake they could possibly make. The Huskies ended up losing this game by running a speed option on 4th down with a quarterback who isn’t exactly known for being mobile.

Instead of opting for a more conventional play, or choosing a more mobile quarterback to be involved in this play, the Huskies’ coaching staff’s perplexing choice ended in disaster. The Huskies couldn’t get into the end zone and they suffered a frustrating loss in the Apple Cup.

There was absolutely no reason to make this decision. And yet. Well. It happened. The Huskies are no longer unbeaten and Jedd Fisch has lost in his first Apple Cup. And of course, college football fans, media, and just about everyone had opinions on the matter.

IT WASN'T A GOOD CHOICE! THERE WAS NOTHING INNOVATIVE OR GOOD THAT HAPPENED THERE!

The Huskies are 2-1. They could be 3-0. But they're 2-1. Let's see how Fisch and Washington respond to this one, because they absolutely can't play like this in Big Ten play.
