College football is back and the Washington Huskies are officially set to compete in a new conference. The Huskies left the Pac-12 and the high flying offenses on the West Coast and are now set to compete against the likes of Iowa, who is on the 2024 Husky football schedule for October 12.

If you thought Iowa's offense was going to improve this season, early indicators from the first half of their meeting with Illinois State (an FCS opponent) don't seem to show much in the way of drastic improvements for the Hawkeyes.

And Iowa is certainly hearing about just how bad this offense is.

Washington Huskies midseason Big Ten foe Iowa Hawkeyes roasted on Twitter for messy offense vs. Illinois State

It's generally not a great thing to struggled against an FCS foe. And yet, here we have the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially in the first half against Illinois State, struggling to move the ball consistently or put up points at all.

And Iowa fans deserve better than what they're seeing.

Iowa fans shouldn't subject themselves to this. They deserve better than this. Or, well, maybe this is something that they should just find a way to boycott. Because if they keep showing up, then there's not really a message of "change things" that will get communicated to the Iowa athletics department leadership.

Great question. GREAT question. I hope they don't play offense when Washington goes to visit Iowa City on October 12. They can play offense in other games, just not that one. Does that seem fair?

This is painful. It's just not good. Things have been a bit better in the second half, but the first half is flat out bad for the Hawkeyes.

College football is great and there are a million different ways to win games. Iowa technically wins games, even if everyone loses by watching them. It's just so painful to watch this offensive offense that Iowa has.
