The Washington Huskies haven’t been in the Big Ten for very long, but their passing attack is already making its mark on the conference this season. Will Rogers has quietly been among the best and most productive quarterbacks in the conference and some of that has to do with the way he’s been able to connect with guys as talented as Giles Jackson and Denzel Boston at wide receiver.

Five weeks into Washington’s first season in the Big Ten, Jackson and Boston have made it clear that they are among the best pass catchers in the conference up to this point in the season. They’ve been dynamic and have routinely helped Rogers out in some tough situations.

Through five weeks of the season, Jackson and Boston are among the best pass catchers in the Big Ten in receiving yards.

Here are the five leading pass catchers in the Big Ten when it comes to receiving yards after the completion of week 5:

  • Tai Felton (Maryland Terrapins) - 642 yards, five touchdowns
  • Denzel Boston (Washington Huskies) - 412 yards, seven touchdowns
  • Giles Jackson (Washington Huskies) - 401 yards, one touchdown
  • Elijah Sarratt (Indiana Hoosiers) - 378 yards, two touchdowns
  • Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State Buckeyes) - 364 yards, five touchdowns

Maryland Terrapins wide receiver Tai Felton has been phenomenal and might be the best well-rounded receiver in the conference this season.

Denzel Boston’s seven touchdowns are sure to catch some eyes as well. Then there’s Giles Jackson, who has been productive, but hasn’t really been a touchdown threat through the first five games. Here’s to hoping that that changes a bit down the stretch of this season.

If Rogers is able to connect with these two regularly on a weekly basis, then maybe we’ll see the Huskies find some wins in a few of the tough games down the stretch. There’s plenty of talent there and they’ll certainly make his job (and running back Jonah Coleman’s job) a bit easier.
