4 roughest games remaining for Jedd Fisch, Washington Huskies after Apple Cup debacle
By Ethan Lee
No. 1: Washington Huskies vs. Penn State Nittany Lions (Week 11)
Arguably the toughest challenge that Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies face down the stretch of this season is when they take a delightful trip to face off against James Franklin and the Penn State Nittany Lions in Happy Valley in week 11 this year.
Penn State has seemed vulnerable and flawed at various points so far through three weeks of the 2024 season, but the Nittany Lions are still solid. They’re a legitimately dangerous college football playoff contender this season.
At the moment (and clearly a lot will change between now and when week 11 kicks off for the Huskies), ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Fisch and Washington just a 17.2 percent chance of beating Penn State. That’s the worst win probability that UW has on its schedule this season.
Safe to say that this one will be tough.
Some things worth noting with this game is how hostile an environment Beaver Stadium can be along with the consistent success that Franklin and the Nittany Lions have. Plus, this will be late in the season. The Big Ten, at this point, could provide a tough grind for the Huskies. We don’t know exactly how they’ll look at that point in the season in this conference.
