No. 3: Jonah Coleman continues to thrive, even if he isn’t always the focal point of Washington’s offense

It would be absolutely fascinating to see Jonah Coleman be the focal point of Washington’s offense on every down, but that would also likely contribute to wearing down the most intriguing member of the Huskies’ offense before we even approached October.

So, I wasn’t too upset with the fact that Coleman only got 11 carries against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. In fact, I was actually pretty impressed with what Coleman did with that few carries for the Huskies this past Saturday.

On 10 of his carries, Coleman was held to just 40 yards. The Eagles found a way to slow him down for a bit. But, Coleman also broke out a 64-yard run and made a few of EMU’s defenders look a little foolish. He’s just really, really good.

Coleman ended the day averaging 9.5 yards per carry and totaled 104 rushing yards. It wasn’t the most spectacular performance ever, but Coleman displayed some impressive big play ability and proved that he can be an asset in this offense on any given play.

To go with his production on the ground, Coleman caught four passes for 29 yards, which is a nice little addition to his numbers on Saturday.
