Friday night’s road loss to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights didn’t effectively end the 2024 Washington Huskies football season, but it did make it much harder for the Huskies to make it to a bowl game this season. Jedd Fisch and his Huskies have a tough road ahead of them in their first season in the Big Ten.

When you consider that Washington has lost two very winnable games (shoutout to the frustrating loss in the Apple Cup a couple weeks back and then this loss on the road vs. Rutgers), then you have to look at things through the light of “Washington really needs to find some wins moving forward.” UW does have some winnable games up ahead, but this schedule is rough.

Washington’s first season in the Big Ten has provided the Huskies with a surprisingly tough schedule full of ranked foes (as well as teams that ESPN’s Football Power Index thinks pretty highly of).

Washington Huskies football schedule: 3 most winnable games left after road loss to Rutgers Scarlet Knights

And that’s why the losses vs. Washington State and Rutgers matter so much right now. Losing to the Cougars and then the Scarlet Knights doesn’t necessarily mean that Washington can’t make it to a bowl game this year, but the remaining schedule doesn’t exactly look all that easy for UW.

There are plenty of challenges up ahead, but let’s take a look at three of the most winnable games left for Fisch and the Huskies, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index and the ESPN analytics matchup predictor tool.
