Rounding out the depth chart for the Washington Huskies will be the specialists. Like just about everywhere else on the 2024 Washington Huskies roster, there’s been some change that’s taken place with special teams.

That said, Jedd Fisch was able to keep a few returning players in Seattle on special teams. Despite everything else that has changed with Washington’s roster (41 players leaving, 59 players arriving on Montlake), special teams does feature a few players back from last season’s thrilling 14-1 national title runner up team.

Like kicker Grady Gross, who will be back for his junior season with Washington.

But Gross isn’t alone in this grouping. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the folks who will be helping out with special teams throughout the year for the Washington Huskies.

We can go ahead and start with Gross though. The junior placekicker will be Washington’s primary kicker for this season and he was really solid throughout the stellar 2023 Washington Huskies campaign. In total, Gross managed to hit on 18 of 22 field goals and was a perfect 63 for 63 when it came to point after attempts for the Huskies. He was consistent and that will help the Huskies again this season.

But while Gross is the kicker for Washington this season, punting duties might be split a bit. Both Jack McCallister and Adam Saul (both of whom are listed as juniors for the Huskies this season) are listed as possible starters in this role.

McCallister took care of most of the punting duties last season for the Huskies and he’s now in his fourth season with Washington. Last year, on 45 punts, McCallister averaged 41.7 yards per punt. Saul, meanwhile, is in his second season with the Huskies after transferring in from El Camino College.

Cameron Warchuck is a new addition to Washington’s special teams and the long snapper handled all possible long snaps for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes last season.
