The first game of the 2024 Washington Huskies football season is against the Weber State Wildcats. But who is game two against? The Huskies will get the chance to host the Eastern Michigan Eagles in week two on the 2024 Washington Huskies schedule.

It should be a pretty lopsided win for Jedd Fisch and the Huskies given that Eastern Michigan is pretty far from being a national title contender. There’s a gulf of talent that exists between the Huskies and Eagles. But still, it’s a game that Washington should take seriously.

So, what do you need to know about this non-conference matchup? Let’s go over the details of the early season game:

Washington Huskies vs. Eastern Michigan game details

  • Who: Washington Huskies vs. Eastern Michigan Eagles
  • What: Second game of the 2024 season
  • When: September 7, 2024
  • Where: Husky Stadium, Seattle, Washington

The Eastern Michigan Eagles will be traveling to Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium all the way from the Mid-American Conference. It’s the first time the two teams will have ever met and will be a bit of Washington football history in a season that will be full of first moments for this football program.

Husky Stadium should provide a raucous environment that gives the Huskies a solid home field advantage over the Eagles. It’s probably not going to be the biggest crowd of the 2024 Washington Huskies football season, but it should be energetic enough to be intimidating for the Eagles (and energizing for the Huskies).

This game provides Jedd Fisch and the Huskies with an opportunity to get rolling a bit. It’s a good opportunity to get a win and build some momentum as there have been numerous changes within the Washington Huskies program. The Huskies will be looking to start strong under Fisch this season and getting an early season win over Eastern Michigan would help with that.
