There were mixed reviews after the NFL Combine about Denzel Boston. Not as much due to his scores, but how he didn't fully participate. He only tested in two different events: the vertical jump and the 20-yard shuttle. Both were good scores, though he desired a better vertical; it felt incomplete. Especially for a player angling for the middle of the first round and being one of the top receivers out of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Boston wanted to save most of his testing for his UW Pro Day. It was there that he was able to wow the NFL Scouts and get buzz generated on his ability. According to NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler, there's been a lot of positive feedback about Boston.
A lot of positive feedback from scouts on WR Denzel Boston's pro day yesterday. Looked really good with his route work and catching the ball.

6.80 3-cone, 4.30 shuttle, 37 1/2 vert at 210 lbs will play just fine.
Denzel Boston's Pro Day scores are among the best at his position

Boston still didn't run the 40-yard dash, nor did Jonah Coleman. But Boston posted great 3-cone numbers: 6.80. He also ran a 4.30 shuttle, which was actually 0.02 seconds slower than his NFL Combine time. Boston improved his vertical jump by about 2.5 inches. At the UW Pro Day, he jumped 37.5 inches.
Boston would be the 12th best in the vertical if he scored that number at the NFL Combine. He would have finished second in the 3-cone, and he would remain third in the 20-yard shuttle.
These are great numbers, and he has scouts recognizing his NFL potential. The comparison by NFL.com's Lance Zierlein is Puka Nacua. There's not an NFL GM who wouldn't take a shot on a player who has that potential.
Boston is projected as a late first-round pick. Most NFL mock drafts have him landing between 20 and 30. However, USA Today did project him to be the 13th overall pick to the Los Angeles Rams. A team that knows what to do with a player like Nacua.
