Well, the 2024 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl was exciting for just about everyone, but it was probably really enjoyable for the Louisville Cardinals and the folks who love them. That thrilling Sun Bowl featured the Washington Huskies working on an incredible comeback, but a failed two-point conversion attempt with just nine second left on the clock doomed Washington to lose 35-34.
And so yeah, Washington fans aren’t going to be thrilled with how this game ended. Instead, folks in Seattle are already looking forward to next season. As they should, mind you. Demond Williams Jr. is going to be a ton of fun to watch as the full time starting quarterback in Jedd Fisch’s offense.
But for the Cardinals and their fans? Well, they’re having a ball right now. As they should. Their team survived Williams throwing for 374 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81 percent of his passes and running for another score and 48 more yards.
They should be thrilled. And if you need evidence of that, here’s how Louisville fans are reacting to this Sun Bowl win over Washington.

And of course, Louisville fans are right to take a shot at the rest of their conference given how some ACC teams have stumbled in the postseason in recent weeks.
This win, in and of itself, is also a pretty big deal for the Cardinals. With it, Louisville now has nine wins on the season and the Cardinals are building a substantial amount of momentum in the ACC with Jeff Brohm in charge.

The Cardinals won. It stinks as a Washington fan, but the Dawgs just simply made a few too many mistakes while Louisville didn’t. All that said, the Huskies did an impressive job of going toe to toe with Louisville in this game and UW is building towards the future as well.
