While the Louisville Cardinals are having to make some adjustments on their offense due to key contributors not playing in the 2024 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, Jedd Fisch’s Washington Huskies will still need to account for a major force on the Cardinals offense.
Isaac Brown emerged as one of the most dynamic and exciting running backs in the country. The true freshman running back from Florida managed to absolutely surpass whatever expectations were placed in front of him as he ran for 1,074 yards and 11 touchdowns all while averaging 7.3 yards per carry.
And it’s worth noting that he was far from being the only focal point of Louisville’s offense this season. This season, Jeff Brohm’s offense also had a quarterback throw for over 3,000 yards, a wide receiver rack up over 1,000 receiving yards, and another running back gain over 500 yards on the ground.
So it’ll be interesting to see how he fares in the Sun Bowl against Washington and how the Huskies defense is able to hold up against him with some of the changes that have taken place on Louisville’s offense.
Can the Washington Huskies defense slow Louisville Cardinals running back Isaac Brown in the 2024 Sun Bowl?
Brown truly has been remarkable and he’s definitely been a deserving recipient of the awards and recognition that he’s gotten this season. As a freshman, Brown has already posted five games where he ran for at least 100 yards.
Heck, in a rivalry game against the Kentucky Wildcats, Brown managed to run for a career-high 178 yards. That’s probably the right sort of game to have a historic outing, to be completely honest.
Oh, and it’s worth noting that Brown is also a pretty capable receiving threat as well. He’s versatile and managed to catch 30 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield. The Huskies will need to keep their eyes on him in this game.
