There should be some sort of study to examine all of the different, impressive ways that Ryan Grubb and Kalen DeBoer found to make an impact on the Washington Husky record book in such a brief period of time. I mean, we’re talking about a period of two years and several of their offensive stars made their way into the record book at some point or another.

There’s just so many. And it’s not like we have to do a ton of digging to find a bunch of examples. That's especially true when talking about the numerous records that involve a wide receiver or two. So far, we’ve talked about Ja’Lynn Polk and Rome Odunze (twice!) already, now it’s time to talk about how Jalen McMillan had a phenomenal impact on the 2022 Washington Husky football team.

During the 2022 season (remember that first season with DeBoer and Grubb and Penix and Odunze and such?) McMillan managed to grab an impressive 79 receptions for 1098 yards (which averages out to 13.9 yards per reception) and nine touchdowns. The Huskies, on a very routine basis, ensured that they got McMillan the ball.

Along with all of that, McMillan played in 13 games for the Huskies in 2022 and that means he also managed to average over six receptions per game as well as 84.5 receiving yards per game. Not bad for a guy who was part of a receiving duo with Rome Odunze on the field at the same time.

McMillan happened to snag a season-high receiving yardage total of 150 yards against the Washington State Cougars (fun thing to do in a rivalry game) and he also managed to get 122 yards against the Oregon Ducks (again, fun thing to do in a rivalry game).
