There are so many different things that I think Jedd Fisch did absolutely right as he started rebuilding the Washington Huskies. The man seems to be pretty smart and he knows how to build a program (as evidenced by how quickly he got the Arizona Wildcats turned around. He knows how to connect a team with its fanbase and he knows what it’s like coaching in the pros.

He knows a lot. The man is pretty dang brilliant. And of all the things he knows, I think the thing that impresses me the most is how he knew how to get Jonah Coleman to leave the Arizona Wildcats, where he’d been a star, and to join Fisch and company up in Seattle.

That might seem like a pretty straightforward thing. But it’s great. It’s brilliant. It’s brilliant because of its simplicity and because of just how dang good Coleman is. Fisch deserves so much credit for getting Coleman to join him with the Huskies and one reason I want to emphasize that right now is because of how good Coleman seems to be.

Washington Husky running back Jonah Coleman gets glowing praise from PFF as he grades out among best running backs in the country

Right now, we’re talking about the latest Washington Husky running back to run for at least 1000 yards in a single season (that’s a very hard thing to actually accomplish, by the way) and we’re also talking about a guy that the folks over at Pro Football Focus seem to think pretty highly of:

I mean, that’s pretty straightforward praise for Coleman and the way he’s performed lately. The Washington Huskies should be absolutely thrilled that he’s on their roster for another season because of the sort of impact he can have on the UW offense again this season. It’s going to be so much fun to see him alongside Demond Williams Jr. in the backfield this coming season.
