Washington football head coach Jedd Fisch joined the Andy and Ari show for On3.com. He talked at length about the saga that happened this offseason with Demond Williams Jr. It is sad that it continues to be the main narrative, but until Williams starts winning games for the Huskies, it won't really go away. Fisch told Andy that he was confident from the beginning that Williams would return to Washington.

He was asked about having the Big Ten revenue share contract as the starting point, a contract Williams signed, and if that helped the process. He replied that it did help, but that he was sure Williams would be back for more than just the contract reason.

"I believe that either way, Demond was going to come back here after we talked for that day or two. He needed to understand what our plan was. I think he felt there were a lot of teams that were making him feel good at that moment in time, to join what they had going. There was tampering, if you want to call it that. I don't know if that exists anymore, but that was happening. The Big Ten contract allowed us to stay firm and stay strong."

Fisch sang the praises of the Big Ten revenue share contract for its strong language, and it gave him the ability to stand firm when sharks were circling Williams. Fisch reiterated that the contract wasn't the only reason Williams came back, and it shouldn't be seen as such. He does believe in the team and where they are going, Fisch had to let his QB recapture the vision for the future.

This may be one of the clearest examples of Fisch explaining the situation around Williams and Washington. There was clearly tampering (if that exists) happening with Williams, and Fisch had to not only use the contract as leverage but also pitch the vision for Williams to believe in it again.

Now, the future is Williams showing the fans and his teammates that he is fully bought in and ready to win games for Washington and get the Huskies to the College Football Playoff.
