The Washington Huskies have landed their first transfer portal pickup, and it's a big one, both literally and figuratively. Jedd Fisch has brought in Kolt Dieterich from Sam Houston to help shore up the offensive line for next season. Dieterich is listed at 6'6 and 310 pounds. He was not only a starter all of last season, but he still has two years left to play.

Oh, and did we mention that he was graded as the best offensive tackle in all of the C-USA? He was one of the top tackles in the portal, and now he's a Husky.

Dieterich was impressive right away for Sam Houston, which is rare for an offensive lineman. As a true freshman, he played in three games (to preserve his redshirt) but already appeared ready for the college game. He then, as a redshirt freshman, became a starter and played in all 13 games, starting in six of them (at the end of the season).

In 2025, he took another leap forward as a redshirt sophomore, becoming an anchor at the right tackle position and becoming not only the best offensive lineman on his team but the best tackle in the whole conference.

He won't need to come in and be the best again; he actually will most likely provide rotational depth for the Husky line. If Fisch keeps him at right tackle, he will back up Drew Azzopardi. He could fight for the left tackle position, but that will most likely go to 5-star recruit Kodi Greene, who also looks ready to go at the college level.

Regardless, it's a huge depth piece for the Huskies and allows some flexibility if needed. It may even be the right tackle of the future for when Azzopardi graduates next season.
