Kalen DeBoer gave a quote about the Michigan head-coaching job search that may have been the most mind-numbing quote of all time. Especially for Husky fans. It almost feels like a parody quote; it is so rich and dripping with irony.
On3.com's Chris Low posted this quote today by Kalen DeBoer in reference to the Michigan job, "I would have had to be living under a rock (not to know). I'm not naive. I never talked to anyone, not one time. I just don't know how you could live with yourself and look into your players’ eyes if you’re looking at other opportunities in the midst of the season and getting ready for a playoff game and hopefully making a run at a National Championship."
If you are a Washington Husky fan, your mouth may have just dropped open. Is it his shame talking? Is it DeBoer still trying to cover up for what he did to Washington? Is there justification here? It's so rich. And Husky fans can't believe it.
Kalen DeBoer says a quote that may have been about him, may have been about Lane Kiffin

While LSU fans think that DeBoer is taking shots at Lane Kiffin, and he very well could be, it's wild to hear these words out of his mouth. Sure, he will maintain, and Alabama fans will maintain that he didn't interview or have any conversations with Alabama until after the National Championship, but it reeks of a farce to every Husky fan who saw an underprepared team in the National Championship and a coach who bolted quickly after.
But, Bama fans will tell you that Nick Saban hadn't even retired yet. Like that doesn't stop conversations and agents poking around, or Athletic Directors checking in on top candidates.
Regardless, the quote almost feels like DeBoer is talking about the Huskies without talking about the Huskies. The scenario he mentions is exactly the same scenario. Even the "considering it" and "living under a rock" feel like justification.
At the end of the day it was an insane quote for any Husky fan to read, on April Fool's Day no less.
