Husky fans will need to pay particular attention to the NFL Combine over the next few days, as there are five players representing the purple and gold in Indianapolis. Today was the first day to hear from two of them as defensive backs, Tacario Davis and Ephesians Prysock, took the mic. The most interesting nugget came from Davis, who said that he has a meeting scheduled already with the Chicago Bears.

The fact that Chicago is making it clear that they are interested in Davis is important because those two line up better than most fans realize.

The Chicago Bears are all about Tacario Davis at the combine

The Bears have also expressed interest and made it public that they are meeting with Devin Moore, a defensive back from the Florida Gators. There is one specific trait that these two corners have in common: length. Both players are listed at 6'3 by their colleges.

There's no doubt Chicago is trying to figure out which rangy cornerback it wants in this NFL Draft. Those are probably just a couple of the options. However, Tacario also said he wants to make it clear that he knows football. One of the keys in his NFL interviews will be to help NFL teams see that Davis isn't just a "go cover this player" but that he knows defense and knows concepts.

That might push him over the top as the Bears were a playoff team this last season and are looking for a key piece to their coverage unit, even as a rookie. Davis gives them length and knowledge. If the Bears end up taking him, it's also a great spot to land as an NFL rookie.

The good news for Davis and Husky fans watching over his shoulder is that the public interest should only help his cause to get drafted higher and create increased value for the former Husky corner.

As for Prysock, he didn't mention teams that are meeting with him, but that's not uncommon; lots of teams try to keep it a little closer to the vest than the Bears. You also have to assume that Davis is meeting with other teams, too.

Tomorrow, each player will give their measurables and will test on the field, which may be the most fun part for fans to watch.
