Danny Sprinkle’s Washington Huskies are having a tough season. Granted, it’s definitely worth noting that this is the first year of a rebuild project and it’s Washington’s first season in the Big Ten and the Big Ten has really good basketball teams. But, well, it’d be nice if the Washington Husky men’s basketball team was able to find a way to get a few Big Ten wins down the stretch of the season.
So, when the Huskies head to Columbus, Ohio in a couple weeks to meet up with the Ohio State Buckeyes, I find myself wondering if Sprinkle’s Washington Huskies basketball team will be able to keep up with Ohio State.
Because while Washington has struggled this season, Ohio State has been a pretty competitive team. And if you ask the ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor, the Huskies really don’t have much of a chance to get a win against Ohio State in Columbus in about two weeks.
How do the Washington Huskies stack up against the Ohio State Buckeyes?
Now, there are basically two weeks between now and when Washington meets up with the Buckeyes. The Huskies are currently in the midst of a six-game losing streak. Ohio State isn’t. And the ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor tool is giving UW an 11.1 percent chance of being able to beat the Buckeyes in *checks notes* nearly two weeks.
I guess my point is things could change. But also I would like to make the point that UW really isn’t expected to be able to beat the Buckeyes. I, for one, would like to see that happen. So, I don’t know if I need to write to my congressman or what, but let’s find a way to make that happen, please.
Washington will have plenty of chances between now and that game against the Buckeyes to prove that they’re better than what we’ve seen so far. We just need to see something change. Sooner rather than later, please.
