One week after taking down a physical, defense-reliant Big Ten team, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies will be looking to do that once again this week. Unfortunately for UW, the Huskies have to hit the road and won’t get to play at Husky Stadium in Seattle this weekend.

This week, Washington will get the distinct pleasure of playing the Iowa Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium. That’s right, Kirk Ferentz, Kaleb Johnson, and the rest of the Hawkeyes will host Fisch and the Huskies this weekend.

And yes, I mentioned a very important name there and it wasn’t Ferentz or Fisch. Washington Husky fans will want to keep an eye on Iowa’s remarkable running back, Kaleb Johnson. He’s quite possibly the best in the country and nobody has really effectively stopped him this season. Through just five games, Johnson has run for 771 yards and 10 touchdowns.

And opposing defenses know the Hawkeyes can’t throw the ball. Opposing defensive coordinators know they need to watch out for Johnson. It just so happens that Johnson is really good at this whole college football thing.

How to watch Washington Huskies at Iowa Hawkeyes in week seven

Here is what you need to keep up with the Huskies and Hawkeyes as they face off in week seven of the 2024 Washington Husky football season:

  • Who: Washington Huskies (4-2 overall, 2-1 Big Ten) vs. Iowa Hawkeyes (3-2 overall, 1-1 Big Ten)
  • What: Seventh game of the 2024 Washington Husky football schedule
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. PT
  • Where: Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa
  • TV Channel: FOX

Iowa’s offense is far from dynamic. It’s not great. But, Johnson and the running game and the Hawkeyes’ stout defense really keep this Iowa football team moving along. UW’s opponents have managed to run for 130.5 yards per game against the Huskies this season. That’s not awful, but it isn’t exactly the best in the Big Ten.

Hopefully the Huskies are ready to account for Johnson. Because if they can do that, then UW will have a very real shot at winning this game.
