Fresh off a frustrating home loss against the Seattle University Redhawks, Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies are looking to get a bounce back win over a considerably worse opponent on Saturday afternoon.
Losing the Seattle stings a bit, but the Washington Huskies men’s basketball team (8-4 overall, 0-2 Big Ten) now has a chance to take some of those frustrations out on the NJIT Highlanders, who have just two wins on the season so far.
Washington is looking to close out the slate of non-conference games (and the calendar year) with this matchup against NJIT. The Highlanders, on the other hand, are coming into this game looking to take advantage of a Washington Huskies team that hasn’t exactly played great basketball lately and certainly looked vulnerable against the Redhawks last week.
Here’s what you need to know to watch the game between the Huskies and the Highlanders.

All things considered, facing off against NJIT shouldn’t be too burdensome of a task. If this is a game that Washington struggles in, it’s time to sound the alarms on what this season will be. Yes, I get that some key contributors are dinged up and injured. No, that should not impact that outcome of this game.
Not if Washington is even remotely a halfway decent team. The Huskies don’t need to be all that impressive to beat a 2-win team that is flying from across the country to face them between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
This is, in theory, a game that Washington should win and win with ease. That said, it’s worth acknowledging that the Huskies should have beaten Seattle U with relative ease as well. So, we’ll see what UW looks like. Here’s to hoping that they bounce back from that frustrating loss.
