After playing last Friday, the Washington Huskies (5-1, 2-1) will have an extra day of rest to prepare for a road battle with the Michigan Wolverines (4-2, 2-1) on Saturday, in what will be the biggest test away from from Husky Stadium for the Dawgs this season.

This is set up to be one of the most intense matchups between unranked teams, as both programs have the ceilings and historical pedigree to be up there with the nation's best. Both programs have also been going blow for blow with each other in recent years, making this season's contest in the Big House a challenge the Huskies must rise to.

What is the series history between Washington and Michigan?

Washington and Michigan have met 15 times previously, establishing a bit of a rivalry in recent years. The two renowned programs scheduled a "home and home" series for 2020 and 2021, but COVID canceled the first half of it at Husky Stadium in 2020. The Huskies then traveled to the Big House in 2021 and lost to the Wolverines 31-10.

Of course, both teams most notably met recently in the 2024 National Championship Game, where Michigan again took down Washington 34-13 to claim a national title, handing that season's UW team its only loss of that season. The Huskies got revenge the following season however, upsetting a No. 10 Michigan team at Husky Stadium under coach Jedd Fisch.

That sets up this upcoming edition of the Washington-Michigan brawl, where Washington is just 1-5 when playing in Ann Arbor (6-9 in the series total). The two programs have also met four times in the Rose Bowl, splitting those games 2-2.

What is the weather expected to be for Washington vs Michigan?

Ann Arbor, Michigan expects to be 75 degrees, partly cloudy, and with a high chance of precipitation later in the day on Saturday. The rain shouldn't affect the game with kickoff being so early, especially since it shouldn't rain the day before -- making field conditions favorable. It definitely seems to be a lot warmer in Michigan for this time of year, and humidity (65%), may play a factor.

What are the odds for Washington vs Michigan?

Washington opens up the week as 5.5-point underdogs against Michigan. The Wolverines have previously been ranked this season and are playing at home, which gives them a pretty good reason to be favored over the unranked Huskies, despite having a slightly worse record.

The oddsmakers still believe this will be a close one, however, as Washington's moneyline is set at a respectable +176. The game's total over/under is set at 50.5 points. This will be a game that will do a lot to improve Washington's resume in the event of a win, and may even put the Dawgs in the top-25 for the first time this season.
