There is an absolute abundance of history associated with the USC Trojans baseball program. It’s really remarkable. We’re talking about a team that has won more national championships than any other (but really they haven’t had much recent success).

Still, there’s a lot of legacy and history and thrilling success that USC baseball fans will probably want you to know about. And, well, I think they probably should be pretty proud of all they’ve accomplished throughout their program history. But it’s still important to remember that they haven’t won a championship in over 25 years.

So, let’s take a general look at everything you need to know about the USC Trojans baseball program, shall we?

USC Trojans baseball overview

Like the Washington Huskies (and Oregon Ducks and also the UCLA Bruins), the USC Trojans are entering their first season in the Big Ten after departing the Pac-12. Which, like the other teams that left the Pac-12, this move might actually put USC in a better position to win given that the Big Ten’s general commitment to baseball isn’t as impressive as some of the other sports the conference invests in.

USC has one of college baseball’s oldest programs as it was founded in 1888 and the Trojans have managed to put up an overall win-loss-tie record of 2,944-1745-29.

  • 37 NCAA Tournament appearances (1948, 1949, 1951, 1954, 1955, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2015)
  • 8 NCAA Regional Championships (1978, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005)
  • 12 National Championships (1948, 1958, 1961, 1963, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1978, 1998)
  • 0 Big Ten Tournament Championships

I said this about UCLA and Oregon and I’ll say it about USC. The Trojans simply haven’t won the Big Ten tournament and they should be reminded of that.

Who is the current head coach of the USC Trojans?

Andy Stankiewicz is now in his third season of leading the USC Trojans and he took over in Los Angeles after coaching Grand Canyon University, where he put together a resume that included a 341-239-2 record. So far with the Trojans, Stankiewicz has a 65-51-1 record.

Where do the USC Trojans play?

Named after a legendary coach who really transformed the USC Trojans baseball program, Dedeaux Field in Los Angeles is where the USC baseball team calls home. The venue opened up back in 1974.

When will the Washington Huskies face USC baseball in 2025?

We will get a chance to see the Washington Huskies meet up with their fellow former Pac-12 friends as the USC Trojans will come to Husky Ballpark in Seattle for a three game series from May 15 through May 17.
