The field is now expanded to 76 teams. Which most fans agree is ridiculous, but now it is what it is. You would think that the addition of this many more teams would assuredly make it easy for the Huskies to make the tournament. They flirted with being a bubble team last season. Yet, according to the latest projections, the Huskies will continue to miss the NCAA Tournament.
Andy Katz gives both his full bracket projection and his full seed list from 1-76 and Washington is nowhere to be found. If this isn't a wakeup call to Danny Sprinkle or maybe better said, Pat Chun and the admin above him, what will it take?

Danny Sprinkle's Huskies are projected to miss NCAA Tournament again even with more teams

It's hard to fault Andy Katz for this projection. It would be great to have a strong case to argue against what is put forth here. Like, "No way! The Huskies should be in." But the reality is, the Huskies shouldn't be. Not with past performance or current projections for next season. Have you seen the roster for next season? It's rough. Sure, it's not done yet, but it's hard to see that team winning a lot of games.
Danny Sprinkle may truly be cooked at Washington. It's hard to see him with a good or bad roster doing anything more. He actually may have been a step backward from Mike Hopkins.
As a Husky fan, it's hard to watch a program that had some pride under Lorenzo Romar, but no longer has any. While it made sense to move on from Romar, everything since has been a step backward. Everyone needs to take a hard look at themselves in the mirror, from the admin to the coaching staff to the players.
If the tournament is going to be 76 teams and Washington still can't get in, that's a shame on the university, and something drastic has to change.
