We’re right in the midst of the offseason right now. The start of the 2025 Washington Husky football season is months away. Spring football is getting started up pretty soon. But, the upcoming college football season really will be here before you know it.

And as we start processing through this portion of the college football offseason, it’s time to start examining the outlets, pundits, and various other media members who are heaping praise towards the Washington Huskies.

With the Huskies heading into their second season with Jedd Fisch leading things on Montlake, there are plenty of reasons to be anticipating a notable step forward for this program. After all, that’s exactly what we saw from Fisch in his second season while rebuilding the Arizona Wildcats. It’s fair to think that could happen here.

One huge reason for having those sorts of hopes and expectations is the way the offense is going to be set up for UW this season. Because the starting quarterback for the Huskies will be a more natural fit in the offensive system that Fisch runs.

And to tie this all back to college football pundits who are paying attention to the Huskies, shoutout to Adam Rittenberg at ESPN who seems to believe that Washington Husky quarterback Demond Williams Jr. should have a huge impact on this team during this coming season.

ESPN college football analyst Adam Rittenberg seems intrigued by the impact QB Demond Williams Jr. can have on UW’s offense

As Rittenberg notes, “Washington coach Jedd Fisch wisely had Demond Williams Jr. start games late last season.” And he’s right. After it was clear that Williams was ready to take over as the starting quarterback and transition into having a larger role in defining what the offense would look like, that was certainly the right position to put him in.

And Rittenberg continued, pointing out the way Williams could play a key role among other incredible talented contributors on Washington’s offense this coming season.

“He will give Washington a chance to take a big step in Fisch's second season, possibly all the way back into CFP contention,” Rittenberg wrote. “Washington also returns top running back Jonah Coleman and veteran wide receiver Denzel Boston.”

Yeah, this offense could be a ton of fun this coming season. It was a bit clunky this past year as Fisch and his staff started getting pieces into place, but things (theoretically, at least) should be somewhat better this coming season.

And it’s really going to be fun to see how it all plays out.
