Does Washington women’s basketball have a shot vs. the likes of Ohio State?

The Ohio State Buckeyes women’s basketball team happens to be one of the most impressive teams in the country so far this season. Meanwhile, the Washington Huskies women’s basketball team is struggling a bit in the Big Ten right now.

And lucky for us, the Huskies (13-8 overall, 4-5 Big Ten) get to go all the way to Columbus, Ohio to play the No. 8 Buckeyes (19-1 overall, 8-1 Big Ten) on their own court. No pressure or anything as the Huskies try to upset the No. 8 team in the country this week.

And if you ask the odds and advanced analytics systems, it doesn’t look too good for the Huskies when they meet up with the Buckeyes. The ESPN analytics matchup predictor system is giving UW just a 9.6 percent chance of coming out on top of one of the most talented teams in the country.

I guess technically speaking, there’s a chance that the Huskies have something that resembles a chance, but we’ll really need to see what things look like as we get closer to the game (and then after the game as well because reviewing pregame content is something that I find enjoyable).

Washington Huskies women’s basketball team has minor chance of pulling off upset against No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes

The Huskies are coming into this contest looking to not only pull off an upset but also snap a losing streak before it gets too concerningly large. And right now, it seems like the Huskies will have a (very small) chance of being able to do that.

The odds aren’t exactly in Washington’s favor and it’s not like anyone is really expecting them to be able to compete with the likes of Ohio State. But hey, there’s still *technically* a chance for someone to swoop in and claim notoriety.
