Denzel Boston at top of Big Ten in receiving touchdowns entering week 10
By Ethan Lee
There are a lot of great things to talk about with Washington Huskies sophomore wide receiver Denzel Boston. While the Big Ten has seen plenty of talented wide receivers throughout the years, a young Pac-12 transplant is showing that he might be among the best in the Big Ten this season.
Boston is competing at a high level and is thriving for an offense that, while able to move the ball up and down the field, is struggling to get into the end zone on a regular basis. And that’s what makes the sophomore receiver that much more important for the Washington Huskies.
Because he’s caught 44 passes for 583 yards, and he’s got a Big Ten leading nine touchdown receptions so far this season.
That’s certainly something to celebrate.
Heading into week 10, Boston finds himself above Oregon Ducks wide receiver Tez Johnson, Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, and so many others. It remains to be seen how Boston will do down the stretch and if he can hold on to the top spot here, but it’s still impressive that we’re this deep in the season and able to talk about Boston holding on to this spot.
Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel Boston ranked at No. 1 in Big Ten in receiving touchdowns after nine weeks of 2024 season
Here are the top pass catching threats in the Big Ten in this category:
- Denzel Boston (Washington Huskies) - nine touchdowns
- Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State Buckeyes) - eight touchdowns
- Tez Johnson (Oregon Ducks) - eight touchdowns
- Pat Bryant (Illinois Fighting Illini) - seven touchdowns
- Tai Felton (Maryland Terrapins) - six touchdowns
- Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State Buckeyes) - six touchdowns
- Ja'Kobi Lane (USC Trojans) - five touchdowns
I mean, that’s just a solid accomplishment to brag about for a bit. Boston should be proud of all that he’s done this season. And if the Washington Huskies are going to make it to a bowl game this season, they’ll need the sophomore receiver to continue to play at that sort of level. Here’s to hoping that he can do that.
