Danny Sprinkle is working on rebuilding a roster that is in desperate need of both bodies and enough talent to compete in the Big Ten. The latest addition checks both of those boxes, and Sprinkle somehow beat out Mark Pope of Kentucky and Ed Cooley of Georgetown. A Brazilian big man named Wíni Braga has committed to Washington and will be part of next season's roster.
Braga plays in the Brazilian NBB, a professional league in Brazil that has former NBA players competing in the league. While it's not one of the top international leagues in the world, it will replicate a Big Ten experience about as well as a pro league can.
The 21-year-old averaged 10.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks last season in the league. He also does something that will help Washington tremendously next season, as he can slide outside and knock down a three when called upon.

There is one college basketball coach out there who is notably desperate and needs to win some recruiting battles to get the fanbase back on his side. Actually, there are two coaches that fit this bill. One is Mark Pope, and the other is Danny Sprinkle. So it's pretty big for Sprinkle to pull this one out in the end.
Braga isn't the final piece to the puzzle by any means. Hopefully, he is just one of a few players that Sprinkle adds this offseason. So far, his transfer portal haul has been fairly underwhelming, especially considering the stars that Sprinkle needs to replace.
The Huskies are losing a potential NBA lottery pick in Hannes Steinbach and then two elite guards in Zoom Diallo and JJ Mandaquit. Add in Bryson Tucker and Franck Kepnang.
The Huskies have added a few interesting pieces like LeJuan Watts, but the star power isn't quite there yet. While Braga may not add that same sort of notable name, he's a player who can come in and add immediate impact for Washington.
