Things haven’t exactly been perfect for Tina Langley and the Washington Huskies women’s basketball team this season and that’s especially true for the Huskies when we’re talking about Big Ten play. And as the Huskies get set to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in one of the most challenging Big Ten games UW has lined up this season, it’s going to take something special to happen for Washington to win this one.

The Huskies are heading to Columbus, Ohio with a 13-8 overall record and they’re 4-5 in conference play, including two recent deflating losses (for very different reasons) against the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers. Meanwhile, Ohio State has a nearly unblemished record overall and is 10-0 at home.

But, while UW has seen some struggles all throughout this season, there has been a bit of a bright spot in Big Ten play. And it’s coming from the duo of  Elle Ladine and Sayvia Sellers, who have come up huge for the Huskies time and time again.

Will Washington Huskies women’s basketball stars Elle Ladine and Sayvia Sellers continue strong Big Ten performances vs. Ohio State?

Lading and Sellers have been thrilling when taking on Big Ten teams and the Huskies have certainly needed them to play well.

Ladine, in particular, has elevated her performance for the Huskies when facing Big Ten opponents. Right now, she’s averaging 19.4 points per Big Ten game all while shooting 50.7 percent from the field and making 41.7 percent of her three point attempts.

And it’s worth noting that Sellers is thriving as well as she averages 17.1 points per game against Big Ten foes. And she’s also thriving from behind the arc as she hits on 42.6 percent of her three point attempts.

When Washington faces off against an Ohio State defense that thrives at forcing turnovers and putting pressure on its opponents, the Huskies will need Ladine and Sellers to have a phenomenal game. Is that fair to ask of them? How plausible is that? Here’s to hoping that it’ll unfold that way.
