Well, not every single day can be a game day for the Washington Huskies. Well, actually, I suppose today is a game day for UW, but it’s not happening on the basketball court. Especially not for the Washington Husky women’s basketball team that is fresh off a double digit road win for the second game in a row.
It sure is nice to get big road wins over Midwest members of the Big Ten and last night’s victim was the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis. Washington got a 72-62 victory and it was largely due to the remarkable showing that Elle Ladine had against Minnesota.
But, well, today isn’t a game day for Ladine and her teammates. THe Washington Huskies women’s basketball team has the day off and then will return to order on Sunday as they face off against the Oregon Ducks.
And since UW isn’t playing but other Big Ten women’s basketball teams are getting the chance to play. Which means we’ve got more Big Ten basketball to watch! At least a couple games, that is. Only two games are set up for today.
Big Ten women's basketball schedule, Feb. 27: We’ve got a couple of Midwest matchups in the middle of the afternoon
Okay, so, lately we’ve been spoiled by the way that the Big Ten women’s basketball schedule has been set up. For folks on the West Coast, the games have been at great times. You get off from work, you hit up a happy hour or hang out with some friends, you watch some basketball.
Today? Well, prepare to leave work a little early and find a happy hour nearby. Because we’ve got games happening in the middle of the afternoon.

That Purdue vs. Penn State game? Uh, well, not exactly a high stakes affair. They’ve got a grand total of three Big Ten wins between the two of them. But, that Indiana vs. Maryland matchup could be interesting if the Hoosiers find a way to challenge the Terrapins.
