There’s not a ton of softball being played in the Big Ten today, that’s just the way the schedule happens to play out. That said, there is a doubleheader happening in the Midwest today as the Iowa Hawkeyes will welcome the St. Thomas Tommies to town for two games.

Which, to be completely honest, is about the most interesting part of the Big Ten softball schedule that is happening today.

The Indiana Hoosiers will face off against the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles in Bloomington and the Illinois Fighting Illini will meet up with the Illinois State Redbirds in Urbana. That’s it. So, shoutout to the doubleheader in Iowa City?

(Yesterday’s slate of games was a lot more interesting and I’m upset that I didn’t carve out time to write about it).

NCAA softball schedule, March 12: Which Big Ten softball teams are playing today?

Here’s today’s Big Ten softball schedule, with times, locations and the teams playing (and all of the times are set for Pacific Time):

  • 1 p.m. - Indiana Hoosiers vs. Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (Bloomington, IN)
  • 1 p.m. - Iowa Hawkeyes vs. St. Thomas (MN) Tommies (Iowa City, IA)
  • 3 p.m. - Iowa Hawkeyes vs. St. Thomas (MN) Tommies (Iowa City, IA)
  • 4 p.m. - Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Illinois State Redbirds (Urbana, IL)

Again, there’s just not a ton of interesting action happening across the Big Ten today. That said, things do get a bit more interesting tomorrow as some Big Ten softball series will get underway. That’s right, conference play is finally upon us. The second half of the 2025 NCAA softball season is actually already upon us (time flies when you’re having fun, you know).

While the Washington Huskies won’t play tomorrow (there are just two Big Ten softball games set for Thursday, which we’ll get to talking about tomorrow), UW will face off against the Oregon Ducks at home in Seattle this weekend. Shoutout to rivalry matchups against highly ranked and very talented opponents.
