13. Maryland Terrapins (4-3)
Last week's ranking: No. 14 (+1)
Last week's game: BYE
Maryland got a much-needed bye after three straight heartbreaking losses. Hopefully the Terrapins got as much rest and preparation as possible, as they now have to face No. 2 Indiana. After losing three games the way that they did, making the biggest upset of the season can heal all wounds. The game will be at home, which should be a great advantage.
14. UCLA Bruins (3-5)
Last week's ranking: No. 12 (-2)
Last week's game: L, 56-10 vs No. 2 Indiana
UCLA's three-game win streak comes to a close, and will get a bye this week to reflect on it. Still with an interim head coach, these final four games of the season, all against teams that will likely be favored to beat them, will be massively important for the Bruins' future.
15. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-4)
Last week’s ranking: No. 16 (+1)
Last week’s game: W, 27-24 vs Purdue
Rutgers earned its first Big Ten win of the season by beating Purdue by three points, not exactly an accomplish worth writing home about, but it's certainly better than another loss. The Scarlet Knights are now two wins away from becoming bowl-eligible, but their remaining schedule is pretty difficult.
16. Michigan State Spartans (3-5)
Last week's ranking: No. 15 (-1)
Last week's game: L, 31-20 vs No. 25 Michigan
Michigan State stayed in it for the first half against its ranked, in-state rivals, but a 14-0 third quarter in favor of the Wolverines put a nail in the coffin. Fans want coach Jonathan Smith gone, and that wish may come true pretty soon. The Spartans need to win three of their final four games to become bowl-eligible, and they are staring down the barrel of a third consecutive losing season.
17. Purdue Boilermakers (2-6)
Last week's ranking: No. 17
Last week's game: L, 27-24 vs Rutgers
Now the story of five of the Boilermakers' six losses, they once again competed mightily, but just couldn't find a way to hold a lead as the clock hit zero. Unfortunately for Purdue, it has the toughest remaining schedule in the Big Ten -- facing Michigan, Ohio State, Washington, and Indiana.
18. Wisconsin Badgers (2-6)
Last week's ranking: No. 18
Last week's game: L, 21-7 vs No. 6 Oregon
Oregon may have played its worst game of the season against Wisconsin, but at least Wisconsin played its best game of the season against Oregon. The result was still only seven points, albeit against the No. 6 team in the nation. The Badgers have now only averaged 12.5 points per game in their eight contests this season, with only 27 points combined in their last five games -- a mark plenty FBS teams hit in one game consistently.
