Well, the first year of the Big Ten era of Washington Huskies basketball hasn’t exactly been the most successful season of Washington Huskies basketball. Danny Sprinkle and his UW Huskies are having a hard time finding wins and that’s especially true in conference play.
At the moment, Sprinkle and the Huskies are sitting at the bottom of the Big Ten standings. They’ve managed to get just one Big Ten conference win. To go along with that one conference win, Washington has lost eight Big Ten games.
But, to be completely fair, this is year one of a rebuild project. It’s not like the Huskies were expected to step into this conference and dominate this season. There’s a lot of work that Sprinkle and the UW coaching staff need to do to get this program established as a winner. And that could take a little bit of time.

Life in the Big Ten can be tough, especially in men’s basketball. There are a ton of great teams all over the place and that’s going to make things difficult for Sprinkle and his assistant coaches.
All of that said, there have been some promising moments for Sprinkle and the UW men’s basketball team. That one conference win UW has so far? It’s against the Maryland Terrapins. And there have been plenty of moments where this Washington team has shown potential. It might just take a little time to realize that potential.
