Big Ten coach salary: How much does Washington head coach Jedd Fisch make in 2024?
By Ethan Lee
Jedd Fisch is coming to the close of his first season with the Washington Huskies. As he made the move from Tucson, Arizona (and leading the Arizona Wildcats) to Seattle, Washington and leading one of college football’s most distinct brands, he also got a pretty solid payday to lead the Huskies.
In his first season in Seattle, Fisch is making over $7.7 million to lead the Washington Huskies. That, my friends, is a lot of money. And it shows that Washington is pretty serious about competing at a high level with one of the most intriguing coaches in the country.
In this season, the over $7.7 million salary that Fisch is getting places him at No. 6 among his contemporaries in the Big Ten.
Right now, he’s behind Lincoln Riley of the USC Trojans (who is making over $10 million), Ryan Day of the Ohio State Buckeyes (who is also making over $10 million), Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin (who is making $8.5 million), Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning ($8.2 million), and Luke Fickell ($7.725 million).
That’s pretty impressive.
Washington Huskies head coach salary: What is Jedd Fisch’s salary?
Fisch is relatively new to the head coaching ranks. This is just his fourth season as the head coach of a college football team. It’s also worth noting that Fisch hasn’t explicitly been a college coach. Though he’s been in coaching for a while, much of his coaching experience is from the NFL level.
He’s got a fascinating background and he’s built an impressive resume throughout the various different stops he’s coaches at. The most impressive part of his resume is the manner in which he was able to get the Arizona Wildcats turned around as a program.
Prior to Fisch’s first season in Tucson, the Wildcats didn’t win a single game. In 2023, Fisch was able to get 10 wins with Arizona, including a victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in a bowl game. He’s pretty good at building a program in a hurry.
