Eddie Smith and the Washington Huskies have a chance to get some wins over the next few days. And, well, UW definitely needs some wins. The Huskies are holding on to a decent spot in the Big Ten baseball standings with their 2-1 conference record, but they’re 9-13 on the season overall.
That’s, uh, not ideal.
Washington will be bringing the Maryland Terrapins to town for a three-game Big Ten baseball series and it’s going to be interesting to see how the Huskies do when taking on the Terps. Maryland is, theoretically, a beatable team. They’re currently sitting at 11-10 overall and 1-2 in Big Ten play.
NCAA baseball schedule, March 21: Which Big Ten college baseball teams are playing today?
Here’s what the full Big Ten baseball schedule looks like for today’s slate of games. As always, all of the times are set to Pacific Time for the benefit of the folks out on the West Coast.
- 1 p.m. - Illinois Fighting Illini at Northwestern Wildcats (Evanston, IL)
- 1 p.m. - Michigan Wolverines at Purdue Boilermakers (West Lafayette, IN)
- 2:05 p.m. - Ohio State Buckeyes at Iowa Hawkeyes (Iowa City, IA)
- 2:30 p.m. - Michigan State Spartans at Penn State Nittany Lions (State College, PA)
- 4 p.m. - High Point Panthers at Minnesota Golden Gophers (Minneapolis, MN)
- 5:05 p.m. - Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Oregon Ducks (Eugene, OR)
- 6 p.m. - Indiana Hoosiers at UCLA Bruins (Los Angeles, CA)
- 6:30 p.m. - Nebraska Cornhuskers at USC Trojans (Los Angeles, CA)
- 7 p.m. - Maryland Terrapins at Washington Huskies (Seattle, WA)
It’ll be kinda fun to see how teams like the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Indiana Hoosiers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Maryland Terrapins fare in tonight’s games. While all of those times are rather reasonable for West Coast audiences and teams, those are going to be a little late for folks from the Midwest and East Coast.
Will that have any impact on those games? I have no clue. It’s not like it’s football. But maybe it’ll impact things tomorrow? Who knows. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
