Are you ready to watch some Big Ten baseball? Do you need a break from work to watch America’s Pastime? If that’s the case, then you’ll need to start paying attention to what’s going to take place in East Lansing this afternoon as the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans face each other in a midweek match up.
But, while a lot of eyes will be on East Lansing to see how that rivalry game shakes out, there are, of course, other Big Ten baseball games to be played.
The Maryland Terrapins, currently on a two-game losing streak, will take on Mount St. Mary’s. Meanwhile, Rutgers is in need of a way to build a little momentum and they’ve got a game against Wagner. Both of these teams could start moving a bit more in the right direction with wins today.

There are a few other interesting games taking place today. The Kansas Jayhawks and Minnesota Golden Gophers facing off in Minneapolis sure could be fun to watch. Oh, and I’m very much so intrigued by how the Nebraska Cornhuskers will do when they meet up with Wichita State.
Given how the Huskers fared against the Huskies this past weekend, it’ll be interesting to get a better feel for just how good, or bad, of a series win that happened to be for UW.

- 12 p.m. - Wagner Seahawks vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (Piscataway, NJ)
- 1 p.m. - Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers vs. Maryland Terrapins (College Park, MD)
- 1 p.m. - Michigan Wolverines vs. Michigan State Spartans (East Lansing, MI)
- 1 p.m. - Butler Bulldogs vs. Purdue Boilermakers (West Lafayette, IN)
- 4 p.m. - Wichita State Shockers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers (Lincoln, NE)
- 5 p.m. - Grand Canyon Antelopes vs. Oregon Ducks (Eugene, OR)
It really will be fun to see how things turn out in East Lansing as the Wolverines and Spartans meet up in a midweek matchup. I, for one, love seeing in-state rivals take the opportunity to have these sorts of midweek games. Get a little bragging rights early in the season. Face off and have some rivalry fun. I’m all for it.
