It’s hard to pick just three Ohio State Buckeyes women’s basketball players for the Washington Huskies to have to watch out for. There’s just so much talent all across the board for the Buckeyes this season. But, well, nobody on that roster is coming anywhere near the number of three point shots that their teammate Chance Gray has taken this season.
Through the 20 games she’s played in up to this point in the season, Gray has demonstrated that she can be one of the most dangerous perimeter threats in the Big Ten as she is hitting on 38.5 percent of her shots from deep this year.
Oh, and she’s taking the vast majority of Ohio State’s three point attempts this year. So far, Gray has managed to go 52-for-135 from deep. Nobody else on her team has attempted more than 81 three point attempts this season. Gray is in a class all her own for the Buckeyes and she’s been the most reliable sharpshooter on their roster this season.
Chance Gray’s three point shooting will be a problem for the Washington Huskies women’s basketball team
Gray is able to effectively help the Buckeyes spread things out a bit. It’d probably help her if Ohio State had another shooter that was near as effective or prolific as she has proven to be this season, but her presence definitely makes things easier for her teammates.
Teams are having to account for her because of her ability to score in bunches. Meanwhile, that affords Jaloni Cambridge and Cotie McMahon even more opportunities to score as defenders are forced to cover a number of different types of scoring threats on Ohio State’s roster.
Washington can’t afford to get lost in transition or on defense in any given possession. The Huskies will need to keep a close eye on Gray at all times.
