The Washington Huskies missed out on Quincy Porter Jr., as he has declared he's headed to Ohio State to play for the Buckeyes. That means that Jedd Fisch is still in search of his next WR1. It could be a player that's currently on the roster, as there's talent there, but Washington is exploring options in the portal.

What are those options? That's hard to know, as Fisch has kept things pretty tight in the recruiting of the portal. However, there is one wide receiver target UW is definitely chasing. Let's start with Darrell Gill from Syracuse.

Darrell Gill Jr. - Syracuse

Gill is one of the best receivers available in the portal, and the Huskies are in pursuit. He is a veteran receiver who has had two consecutive 500+ yard seasons. He has the ability to take the top off a defense with his speed, but also has pretty sure hands on other routes in the receiver tree. He could slide in as one of the potential big-play options next season for Washington. 24/7 ranks him as the sixth-best receiver in the portal and the second-best that's still available.

Iverson Hooks - UAB

Update: Hooks has signed with Oregon. So he's the enemy now.

Washington hasn't been linked to Hooks, but he's a player that Fisch should jump into the mix for. He's probably the best wide receiver taking the jump from G5 to P4 and has big-play potential written all over him. He's currently on a visit to Oregon, but Fisch should be calling him to schedule a Montlake visit.

Noah Rogers - NC State

Update: Rogers has signed with Alabama. So, also the enemy but not quite as much.

Rogers is a former 5-star recruit from the 2023 class, which may have been part of what drew Fisch to Porter in the first place. That raw potential to be a game-changing receiver. Rogers has that too. In his sophomore campaign for the Wolfpack, he had 33 receptions for 441 yards and two touchdowns. In the right system and with the right quarterback, he could easily be a WR1. He's listed as the 27th-best receiver in the portal by 24/7 Sports.
