Year one of the Jedd Fisch era of Washington Husky football was interesting. UW showed some potential, but it really didn’t feel like the team was fully operational in the way that Fisch and the coaching staff wanted to operate. That’s especially true on the offensive side of the ball, where Will Rogers seemed like he was playing in a bit of an odd spot.
But, there were some bright moments, such as the wins over the Michigan Wolverines and USC Trojans and then also the thrilling offensive performance from true freshman quarterback Demond Williams Jr. in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl in El Paso against the Louisville Cardinals.
Moments like that have a lot of Washington Husky football fans circling dates and getting set for the upcoming 2025 Washington Huskies football schedule. Plenty of folks in Seattle are hoping that the second season under Fisch’s guidance will show a significant step forward for UW.
When will the Washington Huskies face the Colorado State Rams during the 2025 Washington Husky football season?
Year two with Fisch as the head coach will get underway with a late summer game in Seattle as Fisch and the Washington Huskies welcome the Colorado State Rams to Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium on August 30.
While not the toughest opponent ever, Colorado State could be an intriguing foe for UW all while still providing the Huskies with a chance to build some confidence and momentum after navigating last season’s 6-7 record that wrapped up with that 35-34 loss to Louisville.
Washington is aiming to establish itself in the Big Ten and Jay Norvell’s Colorado State Rams are the perfect sort of opponent to get the season started against. Enough of a challenge to shake some of the rust off, but not so daunting that UW has to break out every trick in the book to be able to get a win.
On top of that, Washington fans should head home with a nice appreciation for the 2025 edition of the Huskies. In theory, Fisch will be able to get his team to showcase some of the potential the team makes over the offseason before getting into Big Ten play.
