One week after the Washington Huskies get the distinct pleasure of hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jedd Fisch will have to lead the UW football team all the way across the country to meet up with the Maryland Terrapins.
If it seems a little silly for the Washington Huskies (located in Seattle) to meet up with the Maryland Terrapins (located far, far away from Seattle) in what will be called a conference game, well, that’s just part of being part of the new look Big Ten.
You’ll occasionally find yourself traveling a few thousand miles here and there, apparently.
If you watched much of last season from the Washington Huskies, you’ll know that cross country road trips didn’t really end up going all that well for Fisch and the Huskies. So this historic trip to College Park (which will certainly make for a fascinating Big Ten clash), could prove to be an issue if it’s anything like the 2024 UW football trips to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Iowa Hawkeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, or Indiana Hoosiers.
Here’s to hoping that this game won’t look anything like any of those matchups.
When will the Washington Huskies face off against the Maryland Terrapins during the 2025 college football season?
As I mentioned, just one week after facing Ohio State, the Huskies and Terrapins will face off. So, on October 4, 2025, these two teams will meet up in Maryland. And, well, that’s part of why I consider this to be a bit of a trap game.
I don’t exactly love that Washington is having to travel across the country (something it didn’t thrive at last year) to take a trip to Maryland (who is, well, on the other side of the country from UW) just one week after facing the defending national champions.
No big deal, you know.
If you want to make this trip, you’ll be leaving Washington (the state) to fly across the country (I suppose you could drive if you gave yourself enough time) to see the Huskies play near Washington (D.C., that is).
